Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 October 2026
In short: SimLoad doesn't collect, store or share any personal information. There are no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking. Your designs stay on your own device unless you choose to share them.
This policy covers the SimLoad system design simulator at simload.webappslab.com and the SimLoad apps for Android and iOS. They're made by WebAppsLab ("we").
What we collect
Nothing. SimLoad runs entirely on your device, with no backend. We don't use analytics, advertising, crash reporting or any other third-party tracking tools. We never sell or share data, because we never have any.
What stays on your device
- Your work. The current design is autosaved so it's still there next time, along with the previous session's design, runs you save for comparison, and preferences such as the theme and panel layout. These are kept in your browser's local storage, or in the app's private storage. We can't see them.
- Imported files (SimLoad JSON, Mermaid, draw.io, k6, Gatling, JMeter or CSV) are read on your device and are never uploaded.
- Offline copy. The website saves a copy of its own files in your browser (a "service worker" cache) so it works without an internet connection. That copy holds only SimLoad's files.
When you share something
Some features hand your design to someone else, but only when you choose to use them:
-
Share links contain the whole design, compressed into the part of the link after
the
#. Browsers don't send that part to the website, so we never receive it. Anyone you give the link to can see the design, as can any service you paste it into. - Exports and reports (JSON, Markdown, PDF) are files you save or send where you choose. In the apps they go through your phone's share sheet or print dialog.
Don't put secrets, such as passwords or internal hostnames, in designs you share.
The website
The website is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web host, GitHub may record technical details of each visit, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver the site and keep it secure. We don't receive or use those records. See GitHub's privacy statement. The site uses no cookies, and its fonts come with the site rather than from another company.
The apps
- Runs on your device. The apps include the full simulator and run it from a small server inside the app that only your device can reach. The Android app asks for "internet" permission because that local server needs it. SimLoad doesn't send your data anywhere over the internet.
- Links to other websites open in your browser, and that site's own privacy policy applies there.
- No sensitive permissions. The apps don't use your camera, microphone, location, contacts or photos. They only open files you pick yourself when importing.
Deleting your data
- Website: clear this site's data in your browser settings.
- Apps: uninstall the app, or clear its storage in your phone's settings.
- Within SimLoad: choose File, then New blank design, to replace the autosaved design, and delete saved runs from the comparison view.
Children
SimLoad is a learning and engineering tool for general audiences. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
