These terms apply to the SimLoad simulator at simload.webappslab.com and the SimLoad apps for Android and iOS ("SimLoad"), made by WebAppsLab ("we"). By using SimLoad you agree to them.

Using SimLoad

SimLoad is free to use for learning, interview practice and exploring system designs. The source code is available under the MIT License, which governs copying and changing the code. These terms cover your use of the website and apps.

Please don't use the website in a way that disrupts it or harms others, or pass SimLoad off as an official product of anyone else.

Simulations are estimates

SimLoad models how a design behaves using simplified queueing maths and sampled requests. Its latency, throughput, error-rate, capacity and cost figures are estimates for learning and planning. They aren't measurements of a real system or guarantees of how one will perform.

• Cloud prices are on-demand list prices from AWS, Azure and Google Cloud, checked when this version was made. They leave out storage, backups, data transfer and discounts, and providers change prices. Check with the provider before you budget.
• Capacity plans and insights are suggestions. Test real systems under real load before relying on them in production.

Your designs

Designs you create, import or export are yours. We never receive them; see the Privacy Policy. You're responsible for what you put in designs you share.

App stores

If you got the app from the App Store or Google Play, that store's own terms also apply. Apple and Google aren't responsible for SimLoad or for support of it.

No warranty

SimLoad is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We don't promise that it will always be available or free of errors.

Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, WebAppsLab isn't liable for any loss arising from your use of SimLoad or from decisions made using its results. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law where you live.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from them or from your use of SimLoad is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India.

Changes

We may update SimLoad or these terms. If we change the terms, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If you keep using SimLoad after a change, you accept the new terms.
